Industrial Gaskets and Sealing Materials
Metallic, Semi-Metallic and Non-Metallic Gasket Solutions
GasketsAVT Sealing Solutions supplies specialist gasket materials and engineered gasket solutions, from compressed non-asbestos sheet and cut gaskets, through to form-in-place sealing, corrosion-resistant fillers, and metallic or semi-metallic designs for demanding services. If you are unsure which gasket type is appropriate for your flange design, service conditions, or bolt load limits, we can help you select the right option, reduce leakage risk, and improve joint reliability. |

Gaskets
Specialist gasket materials and engineered gasket solutions, from sheet and cut gaskets to form-in-place sealing and metallic designs.

Compressed Non-Asbestos Sheet and Cut Gaskets
Not all compressed non-asbestos gasket materials perform the same. Modern “fiber” gaskets combine fiber reinforcement, rubber, and fillers.
Premium fillers can improve chemical resistance, temperature capability, and overall sealing performance.
High Pressure Sheet (HPS) ManufacturingGarlock’s compressed fiber gasketing materials are produced using the High Pressure Sheet process. One differentiator is the use of a proprietary non-VOC solvent, offering a more environmentally considerate manufacturing method. |
|
High Pressure Sheet (HPS) Manufacturing
HPS manufacturing supports consistent sheet properties and predictable sealing behaviour. Garlock uses a proprietary non-VOC solvent in production.
PTFE, Filled PTFE, and ePTFE Sheet and Cut Gaskets
PTFE offers excellent chemical resistance and good temperature capability, but it can deform under load over time, a behaviour known as creep relaxation. Filled PTFE and ePTFE options are designed to improve performance and reduce retorque requirements.
| Material | Strength | Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| PTFE (Standard) | Excellent chemical resistance | Can creep under load, retorque may be needed |
| Gylon® Filled PTFE | Improved tensile properties, reduced creep relaxation | More stable performance than skived PTFE sheets |
| ePTFE (Expanded PTFE) | Excellent sealability, strong creep resistance | Ideal for irregular surfaces and bolt load limitations |
PTFE (Standard)
Excellent chemical resistance, but can creep under load, retorque may be needed.
Gylon® Filled PTFE
Enhanced tensile strength and reduced creep relaxation for more stable sealing.
ePTFE
Highly sealable and resistant to creep, useful where bolt load is limited or surfaces are irregular.
Form-In-Place Gasket Material
A soft, compressible expanded PTFE sealing ribbon that conforms to almost any sealing surface. Under compression it fills irregularities,
helping create a tight seal across a wide range of pressures, temperatures, and chemical environments.

|
Where It Fits
A practical solution for demanding sealing applications where conventional sheet gaskets are difficult to match to the surface condition. |

Where It Fits
- Flat or serrated sealing surfaces
- Irregular flange conditions
- Easy installation and removal
Expanded PTFE ribbon material that conforms under compression to fill surface irregularities.
Non-Metallic High Temperature Sheet and Cut Gaskets
High temperature gasket sheet includes carbon, graphite, expanded graphite, fiberglass, and ceramic fiber options. Many graphite sheets incorporate inserts such as mylar, stainless foil, tanged foil, or stainless mesh to improve handling and pressure resistance.
Graphite Spotlight: GRAPH-LOCK®
Garlock’s GRAPH-LOCK® flexible graphite material is designed to seal easily under moderate bolt load, retain dimensional stability at high temperatures,
and maintain a tight seal during pressure fluctuations.
Metallic and Semi-Metallic Gaskets
Metallic gaskets are manufactured exclusively from metals. Semi-metallic gaskets combine a metallic component with a conformable sealing element. Spiral wound gaskets are the most common, with many options available for exchanger duties and high performance flange sealing.
Metallic GasketsExamples include unfaced kammprofile, unfaced corrugated metal, and annealed aluminium, brass, or copper designs. |
Semi-Metallic GasketsSpiral wound, double jacketed, corrugated with facing, and kammprofile with facing materials are commonly used in heat exchanger configurations. |
Metallic Gaskets
Unfaced kammprofile, unfaced corrugated metal, and annealed aluminium, brass, or copper designs.
Semi-Metallic Gaskets
Spiral wound, double jacketed, corrugated with facing, and kammprofile with facing materials, often used for heat exchangers.
Gasket Spotlight – Problem Solvers
Engineered solutions designed to outperform conventional gasket technologies in demanding service conditions.
Flexitallic “Change” Heat Exchanger GasketA metal-wound heat exchanger gasket engineered with 5x thicker metal spiral windings and full-penetration laser welding. Proven to perform at least 60% longer than conventional CGI spiral wound, double jacketed, or kammprofile designs. Exceptional recovery performance ensures seal integrity through cycling and relaxation. |
Corriculite – Corrosion Resistant GasketsDesigned for seawater and hydrocarbon service. Non-conductive filler prevents galvanic corrosion associated with traditional graphite materials.
